Dan has reported back in after a successful summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Africa’s highest point at 5895m (19341ft). After setting off from base camp on Saturday the 10th of February Dan along with a hardy group of trekkers reached the summit with the early morning sunrise at 0613am Sunday 11th February 2024.
“This has been an epic trek, starting off in forest at 33 degrees we trekked up into the moorland, then the volcanic rock appeared with the mountain in the background. Getting nearer it got pretty cold and by the time we all summited as a group our water had frozen and we had a thin layer of ice on our clothes and equipment. All in all good altitude training for higher peaks”.
