Preparation For Aconcagua Expedition Jan 25

The team are preparing to go on expedition in January 2025 to summit the mountain ‘Aconcagua’ in Argentina. At 6961m above sea level (22,838ft) this mountain is suitable as a ‘tough’ training peak for higher mountains and will practise the team in the use of scrambling, rock scree, basic snow & ice skills, crampons, ice axe and some basic rope-work (dependant on severity of snow). The ‘Stone Sentinel’ is a stunning peak and great for those who require a real tough test, normally before attempting their first 8000er Himalayan climb.

To arrive at the base camp (Plaza de Mulas) the expedition will trek through the national park along the visually breath-taking route via Confluencia where we will rest up and acclimatise before moving up through the camps 1 to 3, and back down to sleep lower, prior to attempting the summit via The Canaleta.
